I think the word 'Wawa' actually means 'goose'
Yeah . . . I found the follownig on a website which backs up what I learned in schol -- being in an area that has a chain of convenience stores called Wawa:
"Wawa" is a Lenni Lenape Indian word for the Canada Goose that was found in the Delaware Valley, that's why we use the goose on Wawa's corporate logo.
